Herbal Oil for Conditioning
Make this about a week before you intend to use it. Almost any oil can be used, but make sure it's not a strong smelling one. 1/2 cup dried chamomile flowers 1/2 cup dried rosemary leaves 1 cup safflower oil (or oil of choice) Heat the herbs and oil in the top of a double boiler for about 40 minutes. Pour into a wide mouth jar and cover with a couple of layers of muslin, tied with a string. Let stand in a warm place for a week. Stir every day. Strain into a clean container. To use, warm 1/3 cup of the oil over very low heat for a few minutes. Wet you hair with hot water and squeeze it out. Spread the warm oil through your hair with your fingers. Cover hair with a plastic bag. Then soak a towel in hot water, wring out and wrap around the plastic covering. When the towel cools, shampoo your hair at least twice to get all the oil out. Excellent beauty treatment for hair.
