Materials:

3-4 silk flowers

1 pound glycerin

Melt and pour soap base

Fragrance oil

Scissors

Kitchen knife

Microwave-safe glass container

Slotted spoon

Cake cooling rack

Waxed paper

Directions:

(1) Cut individual petals from roses (you can add a few leaves variety by pulling them off the plastic veins).

(2) Cut enough soap to cover your petals into cubes and melt it in microwave according to manufacturer's instructions. Left over soap can be molded or saved to re-melt for another project.

(3) Add a few drops of fragrance oil until it reaches desired strength.

(4) Drop a handful of petals and leaves into the melted soap base. Stir gently until coated, and remove them with a slotted spoon, allowing the excess soap base to drain into the container.

(5) Place waxed paper beneath a cooling rack and spread the petals on it in a single layer. Turn petals over once or twice to avoid marks from the rack and soap puddles on your petals.

(6) Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you have coated all of the petals.

Remelt the soap as needed.
